Even dummys can slow traffic.

We think you will find our suggested methods for addressing issues are serious fun and quite refreshing!

Burnt-Out-Activist's Tour

So your are a burnt out activist. You will be pleased to know this is a petition-free and meeting-free zone! If it ain't fun, we don't do it.

Introduction. Both David and I are self-confessed workaholics… and have periodically burnt out fighting particular social issues. It was our experience as activists that led us to ask serious questions about how social change really happens… and what individuals can do to trigger that change. One of our surprise findings was that small, playful activities can sometimes be more effective at triggering social change than lots of hard work. We are committed to helping activists find more sustainable and effective ways of creating a better world.

Stop 1. Games. On the games page you will find a list of all the 'serious games' that we think can put the joy and spontaneity back into your efforts to create a better world. Look down the list of games and see which ones tickle your fancy. You can start playing most games immediately. Some can be integrated into your everyday activities.

Stop 2. The Games Incubator. Under games you will find the games incubator where you can watch new games being hatched... or participate in the evolution of new games.

Stop 3. The Play Pages. The Play Pages are where you and other people record their adventures in creating a better world through play. It is where you can gather inspiration and hints on how to play your chosen games with more pizzazz.

Stop 4. Articles. Not just any play changes the world. This is where the serious thinking behind the games, and the emerging games, takes place. Read the articles, or post some yourself. There are specific articles on why play, rather than hard work and reason, are the key to creating a better world.

Stop 5. Issues. If you are concerned about specific issues, like traffic, or releasing your own creativity, you will find a summary of our approach to that issue under issues. You will also find a summary of the games and articles related to that issue.

Stop 6. Citizenship. Citizens of this site are free to participate in forums, create play pages, and post articles. You also get your very own personal page, called 'My Place', where you can keep track of the games you are playing, the favorite play pages you like to visit, and all your other favorite places on the site. Citizenship is free!

Stop 7. About Us. This is a citizen-driven site dedicated to incubating and disseminating social innovations. While we, the founders, try to provide an ongoing creative spark, the real creative genius of the site is supplied by visitors and members. The considerable costs of running this site are paid for by cities and individuals who buy our products and use our services. Creative Communities International is a registered company in Australia.

Stop 8. Info Center. Finding your way around a new neighborhood can be a little daunting. At the Info Center you will find a map of the neighborhood, and useful tutorials on activities such as how to set up your very own 'My Place' page, or set up a play page, or submit an article.

We haven't shown you all the features, but this should be enough to get you started. We hope you recover quickly from feeling burnt out and that you uncover an even deeper wellspring of joy and passion for creating a better world. Welcome. Please return often.
