This couple are playing Street Reclaiming. Instead of chatting in their lounge room, they took their coach into the street... and calmed the traffic. |
Potential-World-Changers Tour Introduction: Most people don't know where to start because they feel totally overwhelmed by the incredible complexity of social issues. They feel overwhelmed partly because they have accepted the myth that complex problems require complex solutions. On the contrary, we believe that complex issues are far more vulnerable to small, simple actions than they are to large, complex plans. (To learn why, see 'Play and change the world'.) We are committed to helping you discover your own unique way of creating a better world through small, strategic, playful 'games'. Stop 1: Games. These are the small, simple actions that we think can make a very big difference. Look down the list of games and see which ones tickle your fancy. You can start playing most games immediately. Each game is a starting point and we encourage you to add your own creative flair small or large. Stop 2: The
Games Incubator. Under games you will find the games incubator
where you can watch new games being hatched... or participate in the
evolution of new games. Stop 4: Articles. Not just any play changes the world. This is where the serious thinking behind the games, and the emerging games, takes place. Read the articles, or post some yourself. Stop 5: Issues.
If you are concerned about specific issues, like traffic, or releasing
your own creativity, you will find a summary of our approach under issues.
You will also find a summary of the games and articles related to that
issue. Stop 7. About Us. This is a citizen-driven site dedicated to incubating and disseminating social innovations. While we, the founders, try to provide an ongoing creative spark, the real creative genius of the site is supplied by visitors and members. The considerable costs of running this site are paid for by cities and individuals who buy our products and use our services. Creative Communities International is a registered company in Australia. Stop 8. Info Center. Finding your way around a new neighborhood can be a little daunting. At the Info Center you will find a map of the neighborhood, and useful tutorials on activities such as how to set up your very own 'My Place' page, or set up a play page, or submit an article. We haven't shown you all the features, but this should be enough to
get you started on your adventure of discovery. Welcome. Please return
often. |
